Mack was born in Preetz, West Germany on July 29, 1982, to American parents Jonathan Mack (an opera singer) and Mindy Mack (a teacher and bookkeeper). The parents were present in Germany at the time she was born. Jonathan was performing in Germany. They resided in Germany for two years prior to making the move to California. In the fall of 2001, Mack began to take on the character of Chloe Sullivan, an original character specifically created for the show. She plays Clark Kent's best friend on Smallville on WB/CW. Mack received numerous nominations and awards for her performance as Chloe. Mack was nominated for both the Teen Choice Award for Best Sidekick (2006) and the 2007 Teen Choice Award for Best Sidekick. Mack was a regular series cast part-time for nine seasons and returned to the show as a sporadic principal cast member in the series' tenth season finale. Mack was an actor in the show Smallville: Chloe Chronicles from 2003 until 2006. She also appeared on Smallville: Vengeance Chronicles. Mack was the director of episode 8 of the season 8 episode of Smallville "Power" in 2008.
