Amanda Brugel (born March 24 1978) is a Canadian actress. She was born in Pointe-Claire and grew up in the city. Her acting debut came in the film Vendetta (1999). The comedy film A Diva's Christmas Carol (2000) followed by the slasher horror film Jason X (2001), the comedy comedy film Sex After Kids (2013) in which she was awarded an ACTRA Award. She also played in the comedy drama Maps to the Stars (2014) and Marci Coates in the Space science-fiction show Orphan Black (2015). Nina Gomez was a comedian on CBC. Rita Blue is the dystopian drama series that airs available on Hulu (2017-2018). In 2021, Brugel joined the judging panel for the second season of reality contest Canadian's Drag Race.Throughout her career, Brugel has received several accolades and awards, including two Canadian Screen Awards for her performance in Kim's Convenience and Canada's Drag Race, and an ACTRA Award win and Canadian Comedy Award nomination for her performance in Sex After Kids.
