Paly was the daughter of Olga Dnrob and Alexander Paley in Nizhny Tagil. As a child she was a lover of music, and started playing piano at the age of four. Her birthplace was in Israel to a family who moved to the United States at the age of nine older. Her grandfather was a member of the Red Army during World War II.
