Christopher Maurice Brown (born May 5 1989) is a famous American singer, songwriter as well as a dancer and actor. According to Billboard Brown is the "King" of R&B and is often referred to by many of his contemporaries frequently. Brown's style of music is described as polyhedric. His R&B draws from many other genres, including hip hop and pop. His lyrics are focused on topics such as sex, romance and fast life. They also include regret, desire, regret as well as emotional conflicts. Brown has gained a cult popularity and has been compared with Michael Jackson for his stage presence.In 2004 Brown was signed to Jive Records, and released his self-titled debut studio album in the following year. The album was then certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). [9][10] With his debut track "Run It!" reaching the top of the Billboard Hot 100, Brown became the first male artist since 1995 to see his first single be the top of the charts. The second album, Exclusive (2007), was a bigger commercial success worldwide and led to the second Billboard Hot 100 number one "Kiss Kiss"In 2009, Brown pled guilty to an assault charge against his former girlfriend, singer Rihanna. [12] In the same, year he released his third album, Graffiti and was thought to be a commercial failure when compared to his earlier works. Following Graffiti, Brown released his fourth album F.A.M.E. (2011) that became his first album to top the Billboard 200. It contained three of his most commercially successful songs "Yeah 3x" as well as "Look at Me Now” as well as "Beautiful People", which earned him the Grammy Award as Best R&B Album. The album he released in his fifth, Fortune, released in 2012, also topped the Billboard 200.
