Angela Griffin

 Angela Mellissa Griffin, a British actress and television presenter, was born on the 19th of July 1976. She is best known for her portrayals of Fiona Middleton in the ITV soap show Coronation Street (1992-1998, in 2019), Kim Campbell in the BBC One school-based drama series Waterloo Road (2006-2007, 2009-2010, 2023-present) and the character of DS Lizzie Maddox in the final two series of ITV's detective series Lewis (2014-2015). Griffin was also an original part of the cast of Holby City, playing nurse Jasmine Hopkins (1999-2001).Griffin attended Intake High School in Leeds. She was raised in the Cottingley Estate, near Beeston. Her parents were an English mother and a St Kitts father. Griffin was a character on Coronation Street, a long-running ITV soap drama. She appeared as a guest actor in 2019. 3 Griffin appeared in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale in 1993 as an unimportant character named Tina. Then she joined the initial cast of the BBC One medical drama series Holby City as the staff nurse Jasmine Hopkins, but left at the end of the third season in 2001 as the next series was expected to be longer. Griffin has also appeared in the BBC dramas Cutting It and Down to Earth In October 2001 Griffin presented Brown Britain, a programme on the channel in the UK called Brown Britain. Channel 4 about mixed race people living in British society. The show featured interviews with a number of well-known British mixed-race individuals like Bruce Oldfield and Hanif Kureishi, as well as politicians like Tony Benn.From 2006 until 2010she was the head of the art department and pastoral care Kim Campbell opposite former Cutting It co-star Jason Merrells as well as the former Coronation Street co-star Denise Welch in the BBC One school-based drama series Waterloo Road. She took a break during the third season in the latter half of 2007/early 2008 but she returned for the fourth series in the year 2009. She resigned following the fifth series however, she returned to the part in 2009 for her new Sky1 daytime show, Angela and Friends. The show, which included celeb gossip and health-related topics was on between November 2009 and July 2010. Her best friends Lisa Faulkner, Nicola Stephenson and her son were there to cheer her on. She hosted The Midweek National Lottery in 1999 and took part on New Year's Eve's BBC millennium programme. She also filmed a pilot for Dishes for Channel 4 but she decided not to show it when it was ordered. In March 2008, Griffin was featured on Murder Most Famous where she, along with five other stars wrote a crime story under the guidance by Minette Walters. The end prize was to have the winning novel published. Sherrie Hewson, a former Coronation Street star, won the prize. In January of 2010, Griffin and Gethin jointly presented Sky 1's coverage at the Golden Globes. Griffin was a part of the initial two seasons of Sky's comedy drama Mount Pleasant. She also hosted Emergency on Sky1 together with Angela Griffin. In the month of January, 2012, she appeared in the BBC Two show The Great Sport Relief Bake Off and was one of the three finalists. in 2013. Griffin was Dolly in One Man Two Guvnors. In 2014 and 2015, Griffin starred as DS Lizzie Maddox in the ITV series Lewis. 12 Griffin and Kian Emgan were the hosts of Fat Pets: Slimmer of the Year between 5 and 9 January 2015. Griffin played the role of Elizabeth Harvey on the third series of Harlots. Griffin as well as Matt Baker co-hosted The One Show on BBC One in September 2018. Griffin also played the character of Stevie Hall, a Canadian detective in October 2018. Griffin hosted BBC Radio 2's Unwinds from August 2021. Griffin began appearing in Sunday Love Songs as a substitute for Steve Wright in September 2021. In January 2022 it was announced that Griffin will reprise her role of Kim Campbell on a new show based on Waterloo Road. Her character has been promoted to Head Teacher. [15] In April 2022, Griffin was a part of the Netflix Horror film Choose or Die in the role of the main character's mother Thea.
