Christina Ricci (/'ri:tSi/ REE-chee born on February 12, 1980) is an American actress. Known for playing unusual characters with a dark edge, Ricci predominantly works in independent productions and has appeared in a variety of box office hit films. She has been nominated for an Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmy Awards.Ricci made her debut in film at age nine with Mermaids (1990) that was followed by her breakthrough role as Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (1991) and its sequel Addams Family Values (1993). Later appearances in Casper and Now and Then (both 1995) established her as an idol for teens. Her career began in adult-oriented roles at seventeen with The Ice Storm (1997), which led to roles in several independent films including Monster (1998), The Opposite of Sex (2000) and Pecker (1998). She was also in Sleepy Hollow (1999), 200 Cigarettes (99), Penelope (2006) and Speed Racer (2008). In addition, Ricci was a part of the finale season of Ally McBeal(2002) and also made a guest appearance on Grey's Anatomy (2006). She also appeared on the ABC series Pan Am (2011) and produced and starred as Z: The Beginning of Everything (2017). Her first role was on Showtime's critically-acclaimed show Yellowjackets in 2021. In 2022, she appeared in the comedy-horror show Wednesday.
