Donald Frye, born November 23rd, 1965, is an American actor mixed martial artist, professional wrestler and actor. In MMA Frye was considered to be one of the sport's earliest competent fighters. He also took home the UFC 8 and Ultimate Ultimate 96 tournaments, and was runner-up UFC 10 in his first year of competition. He retired from MMA in 1997, pursuing a career as a professional wrestler with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) and soon became one of the top NJPW heel. After four years of being the top Japanese gaijin wrestler, he returned in September 2001 to MMA with Pride Fighting Championships. He was more muscular and wore an American national identity in response to September 11 attacks. He was in fights against Ken Shamrock and Yoshihiro Takayama throughout his two years with Pride. In 2004, he left the promotion to fight at Hero's and K-1 however he returned in 2007 for the final Pride event. Inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame by his fellow fighters in the year 2016.
