Mike Pence

 Born on June 7, 1959. Michael Richard Pence is a famous American politician. He was the 48th Vice-President of the United States between 2017 and 2021 under the presidency of President Donald Trump. Pence is a member of the Republican Party and was previously the 50th governor of Indiana between 2013 and 2017. Pence was also a U.S. House of Representatives member from 2001 until 2013. After finishing his studies at Hanover College, he earned an law degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Then, he entered private practice. He was unsuccessful in two attempts to become a congressman in the years 1988 and 1990. Following this, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in the year 2000. From 1994 until 1999, he worked as an conservative radio and television host. In 2000 the year he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. He was a member of the 2nd District in Indiana (2001-2003) as well as the 6th District in Indiana (2003-2013). From 2005 until 2007 he chaired and was chairman of the Republican Study Committee as well as the House Republican Conference, the third-highest ranking in the House Republican leadership. Pence declared himself an "principled conservative" who is a supporter of the Tea Party movement. He declared himself to be a Christian as well as a conservative Republican and was seeking the Republican nomination for 2012's Indiana governor's race. In the tightest governor's race in the past fifty years, he beat John R. Gregg, the former speaker of the Indiana House. Pence was inaugurated as governor in January of 2013. He implemented the largest tax reduction in Indiana history, and pushed for more money to private schools. Pence has signed several legislation to restrict abortions. One of them prohibited abortions when the reason is the gender, race, or disability. Pence was the first to sign the Religious Freedom Restoration Act. The bill was met with a strong protests from prominent businessmen and moderates in his party , and LGBT supporters. Pence was required to amend the RFRA to prohibit discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation and other factors. This resulted in him being removed from his governorship reelection campaign. On 20 January 2017 Pence was elected vice president of the United States. Pence was vice-president of the National Space Council from June 2017 until January 20 January 20, 2017. Pence was appointed vice president of the White House Coronavirus Task Force in February 2020. The task force was established as a reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. Trump and Pence lost their presidential bids in 2020, losing to Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Kamala Hanson. The Trump campaign did not concede and made false accusations of fraud in the election. They also have filed more than 86 failed lawsuits in a variety of states. Despite Trump's determination to overturn the results of the election and his assault on the U.S. Capitol during its count, Pence, as president of the Senate has declared the Biden-Harris campaign the winner. Pence has been adamant about his position on Trump by assisting candidates in a variety of Republican primary elections, notably against Trump's presidential candidate.
