Gemma Christina Arterton (born 2 February 1986) is an English actress and producer. After making her stage debut with Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost at the Globe Theatre (2007), Arterton made her film debut in the comedy St Trinian's (2007). Arterton played the Bond Girl Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace (2008). This performance earned her an Empire Award as Best Newcomer. In recognition of her performance in the production of The Escape, she was awarded the Harper's Bazaar Woman of the Year Award. Her theatrical highlights include starring in The Duchess of Malfi (2014) and Made in Dagenham (2014). She also played in Nell Gwynn (2016), Saint Joan (2017) and Nell Gwynn (2016). Arterton has been nominated for Olivier Awards for both Nell Gwynn (2014, Made in Dagenham (2014), Nell Gwynn (2016) and Saint Joan (2017). She has also been awarded the Evening Standard Theatre Award. Rebel Park Productions is a production company that focuses on female-led content both in front of and behind the camera. Arterton has produced four feature films and two short films as the executive producer. Arterton is also a strong supporter of the Time's Up and ERA 50/50 movements. Arterton has been instrumental in convincing actors to wear dark colors during the 2018 BAFTAs. This was in support of Time’sUp. Arterton has also been involved in ERA 50:50 since the beginning of its existence.
