Alyssa Milano

Milano began her professional career at the age of seven after her babysitter, without telling her parents, took her to audition for the national touring company of Annie. From more than 1,500 girls she was among four selected. Through her role in the play, Milano and her mother were on the road for 18 months. Milano was seen in television commercials and played a variety of roles in off-Broadway productions. This included the American musical version of Jane Eyre. When accompanying one of the cast members of the Annie production to the office of an agent in New York agent, Milano was introduced to the agent, who began representing her. She doesn't feel her growing up in front of a camera has hurt her childhood. I'm normal. I've got to keep my home clean, and help in the kitchen." In August 1984, Milano made her film debut in the drama about coming of age Old Enough, which she remembered as a "great" way for "starting out". The film was shown in the Sundance Film Festival, where it took home First Prize.
