Gordon James Ramsay OBE (/raemziborn on November 8, 1966) is a British chef and restaurateur. He is also a TV host as well as a writer and TV host. Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, his restaurant chain, was founded in 1997. It has been awarded 17 Michelin stars, and currently it has seven. The restaurant he has named his signature, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, located in Chelsea, London has held three Michelin star status since 2001. Ramsay gained fame on British television's show, Boiling Point, in 1999. He is currently one of the most famous and well-known chefs in the United Kingdom. Ramsay's television appearances were characterized by his brutality and fierce temper, strict manner of speaking and frequent use of profanity. Ramsay's work combines the fields of film, television and hospitality, with the food industry. He has hired and promoted numerous chefs who were trained by him. He is famous for his TV shows on competition cookery as well as food.
