Hayley Atwell

 Hayley Elizabeth Atwell (born 5 April 1982) is an actress from the United States. She is a British and American actress from the United States and British. Born and raised in London, Atwell studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and began her debut on stage in the 2005 production of James Kerr's adaptation of the Ancient Greek tragedy Prometheus Bound. Atwell was a regular in the West End and television. She was best known for her performance as Lady Elizabeth Foster, in The Duchess (2008). In this role, she was nominated for the British Independent Film Award. The actress was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award as Best Actress in the Miniseries or Television Film for her performance in The Pillars of the Earth (2010). Her performance as Agent Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero movie Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) brought international recognition. Alongside other live-action and animated films she was also in the character of Lady Elizabeth Foster in the film The Duchess (2008). The actress also appeared in the war drama Testament of Youth (2014) and the romantic fantasy Cinderella (2015) as well as the fantasy comedy-drama Christopher Robin (2018).On the stage, Atwell has received Laurence Olivier Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in A View from the Bridge (2010) as well as for Best Actress, for her lead roles in The Pride (2013) and Rosmersholm (2020). Atwell started hosting the podcast True Spies in 2020. This series aims to provide insight into the world spycraft and ask listeners what they'd do if placed in real-world spy situations.
