Kyra Minturn, born on August 19, 1965 was an American actress. She also works as an actor and producer. Her role as the main character in TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most famous. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. Following the seventh season, Sedgwick was nominated to win the Golden Globe Award in 2007 and was awarded an Emmy Award in 2010. Sedgwick is also famous for her role as a regular in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. She was nominated for the Golden Globe for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995).
