Lil' Kim

 Kimberly Denise Jones, born July 11 1974, [2] is more popularly known as Lil' Kim. She is a popular American performer and reality TV star. Her birthplace was in Brooklyn, New York City and was raised there. After being kicked out of her family home, she spent a lot of her youth in the streets. Jones started freestyle rapping during her teens, and was inspired by female hip-hop artists like Lady of Rage and MC Lyte. She was asked to join The Notorious B.I.G.'s Junior M.A.F.I.A. in 1994 by a rapper who was also a friend. The group's debut album, Conspiracy, was a success in 1994, and earned two of the top 20 songs in America. They were then invited to join the group Junior M.A.F.I.A. [3They have sold more than six million copies around the world. The album was the first female-oriented hip-hop album to be released in America at the time. The next two albums, The Notorious K.I.M. Platinum certification was also awarded to La Bella Mafia (2001) and Lil' Kim (2001). 2001 saw Lil' Kim climb to the top spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 featured the single "Lady Marmalade" which was a remake of LaBelle's single from 1974. The track was also performed by Mya, Pink and Christina Aguilera. The Jump Off and Magic Stick were both notable singles at the time. They both reached the top spot at 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became Kim's second highest-charting lead singer single.
