Lawson started her professional career at the local dinner theatre as well as community theaters when she was just 8. Lawson began her professional career at the age of 8 in local dinner theater and community productions. Then she was a host for youth television for WDRB Fox 41 Kid's Club, Louisville. At 15 she relocated to Los Angeles to begin her pilot. Lawson was also a part of television shows like Fear Itself and Smallville, and co-starred with James Roday on It's All Relative and Crumbs. Lawson was also a guest on Model Behavior, which featured Justin Timberlake, and Nancy Drew's 2002 film. Pleasantville, Nice Guys Sleep Alone, and Cleaner are among her other film credits.
