Nate Diaz

 Diaz was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 5. The show was a showcase for lightweights fighting on Jens Pulver's team. In the first round, Diaz defeated Rob Emerson through submission. In the quarterfinals, he defeated fellow Team Pulver teammate Corey Hill by submitting a triangle choke in the first round. Diaz defeated Gray Maynard, a Team Penn member, by submission in the semifinals. He made it to the finals, where he took on Manvel Gamburyan, his teammate. When Gamburyan attempted a takedown, Diaz was dislocated his right shoulder and was forced to submit to take the victory. With the victory, Diaz took home The Ultimate Fighter
