Sara Evans

 Sara Lynn Evans; born February 5, 1971 is an American country music singer and songwriter. She is also an actor as well as a record producer and an author. Five of her songs have reached the top of Billboard's chart of country songs and she has sold over six million albums. Nine other singles have made the top ten on the Billboard chart for country which includes "I Could Not Ask for More", "I Keep Looking" and "Cheatin'". The the top 20 charting songs are "Saints & Angels", "Backseat of a Greyhound Bus" and "As If" The singer has received numerous awards from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. The Academy of Country Music as well as the Country Music Association have nominated Evans for numerous other awards such as Female Vocalist and Single of the Year. Evans was born in New Franklin, Missouri, and she began singing with her siblings as part of the Evans Family Band. The group played through her early childhood and early teenage years in her home area. Evans along with her brother Matt, and Evans started their own band in her teens. They relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 1991, to pursue their dream of becoming country music stars. Evans met Craig Schelske in Nashville. She briefly lived in Aumsville, Oregon, before returning to Nashville. Evans returned to Nashville and found work as a singer-producer, which resulted in her signing a record contract with RCA Records. The first album she released, Three Chords and the Truth was released in 1997. In 1997 she released her debut album Three Chords and the Truth. No Place That Far (1998) followed. Her second single, "Born to Fly" made it to the top of the Billboard country charts. The discs sold over one million copies, and included the number one country singles "Born to Fly", "Suds in the Bucket" and "A Real Fine Place to Begin". In 2006, Evans appeared as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars before then stepping down. Evans made the decision to take the time off from her music career to focus on her family. The singer released an album titled Greatest Hits album in 2008. With her sixth studio album, Stronger she returned to her career. It was accompanied by the two-week number one single "A Little Bit Stronger". After the release Slow Me Down (2014), Evans left RCA and established her own record label. Words was her debut album. The music of Evans was originally influenced by honky-tonk and neotraditionalmusic, but she began to focus more on pop country songs following her sophomore album. While the response to her entire catalog has been mixed, many critics have been impressed by the power and the twang of her voice.
