Seth Aaron Rogen (/'roUg@n/ born April 15th, 1982) is a Canadian-American actor as well as a comedian and film maker. He began his career as a stand-up comic in Vancouver and then relocated to Los Angeles for a part in Juddah Apatow's TV show Freaks and Geeks, and then landed a role in Apatow's sitcom Undeclared and was also hired by him as a writer. Apatow was able to assist Rogen to pursue a film career after landing the job of staff writer on the final season on Da Ali G Show. Apatow was named a Primetime Emmy Award nominee for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Series. His first movie role was in Donnie Darko (2001). Rogen was assigned as a support role in Apatow's film debut as a director, The 40 Year-Old Virgin (2006). Rogen was also named co-producer. Universal Pictures cast him in the leading role in Apatow’s film series Knocked up (2007) and Funny People (2008). Rogen as well as Evan Goldberg, his writing collaborator, wrote the movies Superbad (2007) and Pineapple Express (2008). He also directed This Is the End (2014). Rogen was also an actor in all four of these films. Rogen also appeared in the sitcom Neighbors (2014) and its 2016 sequel, The Disaster Artist (2017, 2019) and The American Pickle(2020).
