 Johnson was picked in the initial round of the 2012 WNBA Draft (4th overall) by the Tulsa Shock. In her rookie season, she was 4th in steals per game (a career-high 2.1 spg).In 2013 and 2014 the following year, which was her second and third seasons with the Shock, Johnson was named to the Western Conference All-Star team.Johnson in 2019Johnson sat out her 2015 WNBA season on a pregnancy leave following the announcement of her pregnancy.She returned just one month into the 2016 WNBA season following her suspension resulting from the domestic violence she experienced with Brittney Griner. [10][11Johnson signed a new contract in the spring of 2019. Johnson signed a new contract during free agency following the Tulsa Shock moved to Dallas. Johnson averaged 11.3 points per game over 18 games, and had 6 starts. Johnson also recorded the league's 16th highest score of 20 points and 20 rebound game during a win over Phoenix Mercury. Johnson scored 23 points and picked up 22 rebounds. Johnson has been statistically famous for her double-doubles on rebounding and points from the beginning of her rookie season. On June 18 in 2017, Johnson scored a season-high 27 points in an 87-83 win over the Washington Mystics. 15. Johnson was named the Western Conference's player of the week from July 31 through August 6. The 19th of August in 2017, Johnson achieved her 13th double-double of the year and scored 23 points with 13 rebounding in a win 90-86 over the Atlanta Dream. During the game, Johnson struck Dream's point guard Matee Ajavon, and was given a one-game suspension a few days later. 18] The Wings finished the season with a record of 16-18 and were seeded 7th for the league. In her first playoff game, Johnson scored 15 points and had 14 rebounds during a losing effort against the Washington Mystics in the first round of the elimination game in 2018, Johnson had a bit of a difficult season, with some injuries limiting her for a couple of games, and causing her to play a few games on the bench. Johnson played in 29 games with 17 of them starting. Her average scoring and rebounding were career lows. With a 15-19 record and 8th in the league the Wings were able to make it to the playoffs. They would be a first-round exit as they were eliminated by the Phoenix Mercury.
