Katy Perry

 Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984) is professionally known as Katy Perry, is an American musician, singer and a television host. Vogue has described her as the "Queen of Camp", in reference to her influence on pop music as well as her campy style. Pursuing a career in gospel music at 16, Perry made her debut album, Katy Hudson, under Red Hill Records in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. Perry moved to Los Angeles at 17 to pursue secular music and later took on the stage name "Katy Perry" after her mother's maiden name. Columbia Records signed her to record but she was not signed before she signed with Capitol Records. She rose to stardom with One of the Boys (2008) which was a pop-rock single featuring the singles "I Kissed a Girl", and "Hot n Cold", respectively, which reached number one on the U.S. charts. Billboard Hot 100 respectively. The disco-influenced album Teenage Dream (2010) spawned five U.S. number one singles--"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T. ", as well as "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F. )" --becoming the only album by a female artist to have both songs. The album was reissued titled Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection (2012) was later followed by the U.S. number one single "Part of Me". The album that focused on empowerment Prism (2013) featured two U.S. number one singles "Roar" and "Dark Horse". Perry's music videos were the first to hit one billion views on Vevo. Witness the album, which is electropop featuring themes of feminism and political themes, was Perry's first video to achieve one billion views on Vevo. Smile (2020), however, was influenced by her recent motherhood experience and her mental health journey. Then, she launched her Las Vegas concert residency entitled Play (2021-2099) that has received praise from critics as well as commercial success.
