If rent isn't paid on a storage facility for three months in California the contents may be sold to an auctioneer as one lot of goods in the form of an auction that is cash-only. This auction features buyers from professional firms who go to storage locations throughout the state in order to place bids for these lockers. Prior to auctioning each locker, the buyers are given five minutes to examine the contents from the doorway however they are not allowed to enter the locker or touch any objects.
