Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, born April 16, 1993 is an American rapper and singer-songwriter. Bennett was born and raised in Chicago. He released his first mixtape 10 Day in 2012. He began to gain the attention of the public in 2013 after dropping his second mixtape Acid Rap. [3] He then released his third mixtape, Coloring Book in 2016 and it received more critical acclaim and attention. He won three Grammy Awards for it, including Best Rap Album. It was also the first streaming-only album to ever win a Grammy Award. It peaked at the number 8 spot on the Billboard 200. His debut studio album The Big Day was released in the year 2019. In addition to his solo career, Bennett is a member of the Chicago collective Savemoney, and is the vocalist of The Social Experiment; they released the album Surf in 2015, helmed by trumpeter Nico Segal. [7] Bennett is active with social causes in Chicago, where he lives.
