Joseph Antonio Cartagena (born August 19, 1970) more popularly known as his stage name Fat Joe, is an American rapper hailing from New York City. His musical career began when he was part of the hip-hop group Diggin' in the Crates Crew. ), then forged an independent career and established his own label Terror Squad, to which he signed Big Pun, Remy Ma, Tony Sunshine, Cuban Link, Armageddon, Prospect, Triple Seis and then-unknown DJ Khaled, as well as discovering producers Cool & Dre.
