Lil' Kim

 Kimberly Denise Jones (born July 11, 1974),[2] better known as Lil' Kim is an American performer and reality television presenter. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City she spent the majority of her adolescent life on the streets after being exiled from her home. Jones began freestyle rapping in her teens and was influenced by female hip-hop artists like Lady of Rage and MC Lyte. She was invited to join The Notorious B.I.G.'s Junior M.A.F.I.A. in 1994 by a fellow rapper. The group's debut album, Conspiracy, was a huge success in 1994 and brought the group two of the top 20 hits in America. They were then invited to join his group Junior M.A.F.I.A. [3They have sold over six million copies worldwide. It was the first female rapper album to hit the shelves in the United States in the year 1996. The next two albums, The Notorious K.I.M. Platinum certification was also awarded to La Bella Mafia (2001) and Lil Kim (2001). Lil' Kim reached the top spot on the U.S. charts in 2001. Billboard Hot 100 featured the single "Lady Marmalade", a remake of LaBelle’s 1974 single. The track was also performed by Mya, Pink and Christina Aguilera. Other notable songs from the period comprise "The Jump Off" and "Magic Stick" the latter of which reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Kim's 2nd-highest-charting single as a lead performer.
