Serena Williams

 Serena Jameka Williams (born September 26th, 1981)[1] is an American professional tennis player who is inactive. She is considered to be among the top tennis players of all time, she was ranked world at No. The women's Tennis Association (WTA), placed her at the No. 1 in singles for 319 consecutive weeks. This included a record 186 consecutive weeks and was named Year-End No. 1. Five times. She took home 23 Grand Slam singles titles. This is the most of any Open Era player and second-most ever.

Along with her older sister Venus, Serena Williams was trained by her parents Oracene Price and Richard Williams. Turning professional in 1995, she took her first major singles title in 1999 at the US Open. She had a dominant run from 2002's French Open to 2003 Australian Open. She also won two singles majors in the next few years, but suffered from injuries and a drop in form. Since 2007, however she began to return to form despite continued injuries, retaking the world No. 1 singles ranking. Williams' dominance resumed during the 2012 Wimbledon Championships. She won Olympic gold and became the first tennis player to earn an entire career Golden Slam in singles and doubles. [19] Williams won eight of the thirteen singles majors, and all four consecutively from 2014-15, in order to claim the second "Serena Slam". She won her 23rd major singles title in the 2017 Australian Open. This surpasses Steffi Graf's Open Era record. She then was off from tennis professionally after becoming pregnant and reached four major finals since returning to play. In August 2022, Williams announced her impending evolution away from professional tennis. She then took part in what was believed to be her last game in the 2022 US Open.
